Health Talk

Sports, Health, Fitness, Wellness, and medicine are all related to each other in terms of their application. All of these four things are present and applied in human. It is one of those thousands of reason why humans survived and why we enjoined our life. Let’s start talking about sports. It is a game composed of several rules that are played using our physical and mental aspect. It is where an individual can never be alone. Sports were adopted by humans long time ago. It has been part of human life. Then, few years later, we discovered that it has numerous of benefits that target our physical, mental, social, and emotional aspect. To dig deeper, sports can improve human’s human's physical aspects because it can improve muscle tone. It also shows that sports can create human relationships and group bonding. Sports can also relieve emotional tensions, like having hard time in the office, or thinking of several plans at home or in the family. It is said that the more you are involved in sports the more you get wiser, maybe because of the set of rules that you are playing with. In the present of several rules, humans begins to think plenty of ways and techniques how to achieve their goal using those rules with proper mental and physical balance.

On the other hand, fitness was believed to have contributions to human life. There are two of the most common kind of fitness, it is physical and mental. An individual can perform the task at its optimum level of functioning with fitness. It is said that fitness has a contribution to sports. With it an athlete can excel in sports whether it is based on physical or mental skills.

Now let’s talk about wellness. What comes up to your mind when we speak of wellness? You may think about its benefit, its effect towards human, or something you can relate to yourself with regards to your state of well being. I want to ask you this, are you now in a state of wellness? If you are having your exercise every day, taking healthy diet, able to manage and cope up problems effectively then I can proudly say that you are now ready to be in a state of wellness. There are still many people who are confused about the relationship of wellness and health. To make it simple we should always think that wellness is a certain level of health that can be manipulated by an individual to a higher level of functioning. Therefore, wellness and health are not the same but instead they are interrelated with each other.

Medicine is another interesting topic to talk about. It deals with not only those medicine seen in the pharmacy but also those plants found in our natural forest, which are commonly called herbal plants. It is believed that medicine was used by humans long time ago. They utilized herbal plants and evaluated its effect using trial and error technique. After years passed by, scientists begin to conduct studies about medicines and its effect to the human body. They built several laboratories for testing their sample medicines. Animals were used as their subject for testing. Rabbits, rats, cats, and dogs were commonly used by the scientist at that time. Today with the improvement of our technology we can see that there has been a big difference in the world of medicine. Scientist and doctors can now provide drugs for most diseases. However, still there is a problem despite with this good news. There are plenty of people belong to the poor sector of the society. Poverty increases in most Asian countries. With this, there are still plenty of people who cannot afford to submit their selves for treatment. The government should take actions for this kind of problems. Health is very important and treatment is very vital for those suffering from illness. Thousands of lives have ended because of this issue. For us humans, we should always think that for all health problems, prevention is the best treatment. With it, we can create a healthy life and establish a state of well being.
